We start climbing to the pass at Dochula, which is known for its spiritual energy and 108 Chortens. After lunch, we descend down to Punakha.
Visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang.
Ride towards Wangdue Phodrang
Trongsa Dzong – was first found by Pema Lingpa in the 16th century and was flourished during the 17th century under Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. Located on the hilltop, with Mangde Chu flowing below the valley. Trongsa Dzong was once used by the kings to rule the country and presently, before the prince gets on the throne, he take the post of Trongsa Penlopor or Governor.
Cycle up to Yontong La pass before we head down to Zungney. Later, we climb to Kiki La before descending down to Jakar, also called Bumthang.
We will visit one of the oldest temples Jambay Lhakhang, built-in 659 AD by Sontsen Gambo King of Tibet to subdue the demoness and flourish the teaching of Buddha.
Then to Kurjey Lhakhang, build after Guru Rinpoche has subdued the powerful Shelging Karpo demon.
Jakar Dzong was established in 1549 by the incredible grandfather of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the dad, and unifier of medieval Bhutan. Known as the Castle of the White Bird, it was based over the slope in light of the fact that the lamas were coordinated there by a huge white fowl.
We ride up to the remote Tang Valley and stay at a private museum and guesthouse.
We backtrack to the main road to Shirtung La at the top of the pass. We have an option to ride down a single track to Ura village or continue on a paved road.
Pass the highest pass, Thurmshing La and ride downhill to Sengor.
Pass the Kuru Chu River and climb to Mongar.
We will climb Kori la and descend down to Drangme Chu River. And finally climb up to Trashigang.
We ride up to Yongphu La and ride till our campsite in Wamrong.
Now we will ride down to border town of Samdrup Jongkhar.
We cross the border into India and drive to Guwahati Airport.
