Thimphu Bhutan

Bhutan culture fascinates every person who comes across it. Bhutan is the smallest country enriched with a lot of love. Bhutanese culture is one of the distinctive cultures in the world.

Day 1
Arrival in Paro

Welcome to the Land Of Thunder Dragon! You will be welcomed by one of our guides waiting outside the arrival hall. We will take a short drive to the capital city of Bhutan Thimphu and check into your hotel.

Buddha Point at Kuensel Phodrang, one of the largest sitting Buddha. Overlooking the Thimphu valley giving you a glorious scene. The 169 feet bronze statue makes you a visit.

Sangaygang – where Bhutan Board Casting Service tower is located on the hilltop gives you the 360-degree view of Thimphu city.

Takin reserved park – look at the beautiful animal the national aminal of Bhutan which has a significant Buddhist view.

Day 2
Tour of Thimphu

Day 3
Thimphu to Punakha

We will drive to the formal capital of Bhutan until 1955, Punakha. On the way, we will stop at Dochula Pass, a popular tourist spot that grants stunning 360-degree views of the Himalayas. Here, we have 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens build in the name of the Bhutanese soldiers killed in a 2003 battle with Assamese insurgents from India.

Also, visit Druk Wangyel Lhakhang build to commemorate 100 years of monarchy.

Punakha Dzong – Build at the junction of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu river by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in 1637 to serve as the center of religious and administrative decision making.

Khamsum Yuley Temple – Build by the Queen Mother of the 5th King, for the peace in the universal. This temple holds spiritual artworks, painted on the inner walls and temple to study the symbolic meanings from frescoes and sculptures.

Chhimi Lhakhang – Temple built in 15th century by Ngawang Chogyel

Day 4
Punakha To Bumthang

Today we will drive to Central Bhutan, a route from Wangdue Phodrang. Will visit Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, built on the mount of hill overlooks the confluence of the Tsang Chu and Dang Chu rivers.

Day 5
Bumthang

Bumthang, a glorious valley enriched with historical and spiritual legacy. Some of Bhutan’s oldest temples are found here including Jambey Lhakhang.

In the morning, we will hake to the Tamshing Goemba and also visit Kurjey Lhakhang.

Jakar Dzong – Built on the high ground overlooking the town, it was built in 1549 by the great grandfather of the Zhabdrung. It is now used as the administrative center for Bumthang district.

Visit to Jambay Lhakhang, built-in 659 by Tibeaten King Sontsen Gampo to subdue the evil demoness and to spread the teaching of Buddha.

In the afternoon, we will hike up to Thangbi Valley, go ove the suspension bridge and visit Tahngbi Lhakhang.

Day 6
Bumthang

Mebar Tsho (The Burning Lake), according to legend Terton Pema Lingpa had a vision of the sacred treasures that Guru Rinpoche had hidden within the lake and to convince the local people he is meant to retrieve this treasure by holding butter lamp on the hand jumped in the lake and came back without the butter lamb off.

Ugyen Choling Palace, built-in 17th century by Deb Toskey Dorji, a descendant of Buddhist Saint Dorji Lingpa. Located in a remote location and owned by the same family for hundreds of years, this place is less frequently visited historical place.

Day 7
Bumthang to Gangtey

On our approach to Gangtey, we will go through Trongsa, the genealogical home of the Wangchuck government. This means new town, the principal sanctuary was worked here in 1543. Customarily, every ruler of Bhutan has held the situation of Trongsa Penlop (senator) before wearing the Raven Crown.

Up the mountain sits the Trongsa Museum Taa Dzong, a watchtower worked in 1652 to avert assaults of the town beneath. It presently fills in as home to the Royal Heritage Museum, featuring the historical backdrop of the territory and the Wangchuck administration. Including Buddhist craftsmanship, illustrious memorabilia, a 500-year-old coat of Ngagi Wangchuck, and Padma Kathang’s own duplicate of the transcribed life story of Guru Rinpoche. You can peruse increasingly about the history and significance of the Taa Dzong in the book, Tower of Trongsa by Christian Schicklgruber.

Day 8
Gangtey to Paro

Paro Valley- The beautiful valley is home to many of Bhutan’s old monasteries and temples.

Paro Dzong – also known as Rinpung Dzong, built-in 15th century and now the center of administrative doe Paro dzongkhag.

Ta Dzong – the National Museum built-in 1968 overlooking the Paro valley.

Drukgyal Dzong – dzong under reconstruction after it was destroyed by fire was build -in 1647 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Day 9
Paro to Haa

Drive to Haa valley through Chele La (3,988m). In Haa, there are no tourist hotels so we will drive back to Paro at night.

Day 10
Paro

Taktsang Monastery – An hour hike to the monastery built on the cliffy mountain. Where Guru Padmasambhava flew on the tigress back and meditated.

Kyichu Lhakhang – After lunch, we will visit the other oldest temple build along with Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang.

Day 11
Depart from Paro
